Post-Surgery Medo update 🐈

After 3 weeks post-surgery, Medo finally got his stitches out. I waited another 3 days before removing the cone because there was still a bit of a fresh wound underneath, and I was worried he’d lick it.

Honestly… I think I was more anxious about removing that cone than he was 😄

Those 3 weeks were not easy. Medo never figured out how to eat with the cone (I tried multiple raised dishes — nope). Nights were even harder… he stayed in the bathroom and scratched for hours, creating chaos and keeping me awake.

The moment I removed the cone?
He groomed himself ALL day. Poor thing.

And yes… he immediately licked the wound. Argh.

But at some point you just have to let them be cats. I realized that no matter how long I kept the cone on, he would probably go after that spot anyway.

Now he’s a happy camper again — rolling around in the backyard like nothing ever happened, and finally back to spending his nights in his outdoor condo.

What a journey this has been.

For anyone going through post-surgery recovery with their cat — hang in there.
